EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIRED

3DEM is designed to run under Win95/98//NT/ME/2K or Windows XP with 24 bit color graphics. A one GHz Pentium or better microprocessor and fast graphics card are recommended.

A minimum of 256 MBytes of memory is also required. Less than 256 MBytes of memory will limit the usefulness of the high-resolution modes of OpenGL rendering.

For Win95 you will need the Microsoft OpenGL dynamic link libraries (opengl32.dll and glu32.dll) These file can also be downloaded from the 3DEM home page at http://www.visualizationsoftware.com/3dem.html. Opengl32.dll and glu32.dll should reside in your Windows/System directory.

3DEM will display GPS waypoints, routes, and tracks on both the Overhead View and the 3D Scene generated from a Digital Elevation Model. This will allow you to view the track of any journey across a high-resolution 3D image of the terrain. GPS data can be read directly from Garmin and Magellan handheld GPS receivers via a serial data connection to your computer. Text files of GPS points can also be read and displayed.
